Kathmandu, Aug 11: Indian Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri has arrived Kathmandu on a two-day official visit to Nepal at the invitation of Foreign Secretary Sewa Lamsal.
He was received by Secretary Lamsal at the Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, foreign secretaries of both the countries would discuss a gamut of matters related to Nepal-India relations, mutual interests and cooperation.
As per the schedule, Indian Foreign Secretary would hold separate meetings with the distinguished persons of the Nepal government.
This is a regular visit of the Indian Foreign Secretary to Nepal. It is said the visit of the new foreign secretary is the regular exchanges between the two countries.
The visit would continue the tradition of routine exchange of high-level visits between the two countries and also reflect India’s importance to the relations with Nepal as part of its ‘Neighbourhood First’ policy.
Nepal and India have age-old civilizational, cultural and people-to-people relations.
India has been providing assistance to Nepal in accomplishing several mega infrastructural and connectivity related projects.
Foreign Secretary Misri is scheduled to return India on Monday, tomorrow.
