A young woman has been arrested from Jamini Municipality of Baglung on charge of killing a fetus by having an illegal pregnancy

Baglung, July 18 – A young woman has been arrested from Jamini Municipality of Baglung on charge of killing a fetus by having an illegal pregnancy.

A 26-year-old woman of Jamini-10 has been accused of killing a four-month-old fetus and burying it in a field. Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Iqbal Hawari said that the woman was found dead after giving birth to a four-month-old male fetus.

On Saturday afternoon, locals reported her to the Bareng police station, where she was found with her fetus buried in a red carpet when police arrived, Hawari said. “We arrested her on suspicion by locals.”

Neighbors had been monitoring him for several days after he showed unusual behavior. Police have brought her to the district headquarters on Saturday night. Hawari said that further investigation will be started after examining his health this morning. It is unknown at this time what he will do after leaving the post.
