Kathmandu, July 22 – Akhil Krantikari, a student organization affiliated to the Biplop-led Communist Party of Nepal, staged a demonstration in the capital on Thursday.
The students gathered at Maitighar in the capital to protest against foreign intervention and in favor of national independence.

He stressed on the need for unity of all leftist, progressive, patriotic and people’s democratic students and said that Lipulek and Kalapani belonged to Nepal.

Last year, Nepal also released a map of Lipulekh including Kalapani after India grabbed it and included it in its map. However, as there is still controversy over this issue, the rebel group is of the view that Nepali land should be formally returned by taking immediate diplomatic initiative.

Meanwhile, the protesters opposed the MCC and demanded an end to all foreign interference.
They also demanded the repeal of all unequal treaties, including the Sugauli Treaty.

They had gathered with banners with various slogans and chanted slogans in favor of nationalism.
