Kathmandu, July 13 – The first dose of coronavirus vaccine against corona virus is being administered in Bagmati, Gandaki and Lumbini provinces from today.
The Ministry of Health and Population has decided to vaccinate people above 55 years of age in Bagmati, Gandaki and Lumbini provinces.
As per the decision, 142,650 doses of vaccine have been sent to Gandaki and 114,000 doses to Lumbini. Provincial health directorates have already sent vaccines to districts.
Head of Vaccination Branch of the Department of Health Services, Dr. Jhalak Sharma Gautam informed that in the first phase, university professors, school teachers and staff, drivers and co-drivers working in public transport will also be vaccinated with Verosel this time.
The Ministry of Health and Population has decided to vaccinate those who have missed out on vaccinations and those who have gone to countries where vaccination is mandatory.
