Kathmandu, August 12 – Husband strangles wife to death near Guheshwari temple in Gaushala, Kathmandu. Police have arrested Ram Shrestha, a resident of Hetauda in Makwanpur and a resident of Guheshwari Corridor, on the charge of murdering his wife.
According to SP Ramesh Basnet of Kathmandu Metropolitan Police, Shrestha, 39, strangled his wife Ranju Tamang, 23, to death on Thursday.
Ranju had a 6-month-old baby in her womb. A year ago, during a fight, Ranju stole her grandson and said, “Now my husband is dead.”
After his wife’s murder, Ram had called the police control number 100 and reported the incident. When he reached the police station, he was sitting in the room with his arms folded. He has run a recondition to buy and sell motorcycles in Guheswari. Ranju’s body has been sent to TRIV Teaching Hospital, Maharajgunj for postmortem.
