Kathmandu, July 7 – Nepal Telecommunication Authority has stated that technical work is being done to implement MDMS. NEA chairperson Purushottam Khanal said that work is being done to allow the mobile phone to run smoothly.

He said that mobile users will be given time to register IMEI numbers throughout the month of July. NEA chairperson Khanal urged not to use low-quality, low-quality and illegally purchased mobile phones. NEA chairperson Khanal warned not to believe the false information found on various social media as it is now reported in the media.

After July, he requested to register as the mobile set without IMEI number may not work. As the mobile device management system will be implemented from July 1, the illegally imported mobile sets may not work.

The Government of Nepal has announced to implement MDMS while making public next year’s budget. Mobile sets without IMEI number registration cannot run after MDMS is implemented. That is, even if you have a SIM card in such mobiles, it does not work.

Mobile entrepreneurs have said that there will be no more illegal mobiles in Nepal after the implementation of MDMS.

Deepak Kumar Malhotra, vice-president of the Nepal Chamber of Commerce and Industry, who is also the president of the Mobile Phone Importers’ Association, said that mobile transactions would be transparent after the implementation of the MDMS system.
Of the 40 billion mobile transactions, 13 billion are said to be illegal. He said that the MDMS system will take all the transactions in a legal way.

This will increase the tax range of the state, stop illegal imports and stop customer fraud, said Chairman Malhotra. As the MDMS system is being implemented for the first time, the Telecommunications Authority is discussing with the Mobile Phone Importers Association about the ongoing mobiles and gifts from abroad and how to allow the mobiles carried by tourists to run.

During the discussion, Chairman Malhotra said that they have suggested to register the IMEI number by giving a certain time to the running phone.
