Instructions to immediately investigate and take action against the officials involved in the tender process of printing smart driver’s license

Kathmandu, August 4 – The Development and Technology Committee of the Parliament has directed to immediately investigate and take action against the officials involved in the tender process of printing smart driver’s license. The committee gave the directive after a discussion with Secretary at the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure Development Rabindranath Shrestha and Director General of the Department of Transport Management Namaraj Ghimire at the committee’s office on Wednesday.

The committee has directed to investigate and take action against the culprits saying that technical weaknesses were found in the tender for printing of smart driver’s license.

The committee has been instructing to issue smart driver’s licenses in a timely manner. The Government of Nepal instructs the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Transport to investigate and take action and make the information available to the committee.

The committee has also directed the government of Nepal to make necessary arrangements for the software to be used for every purpose. As all the provisions related to driver’s license fall under the jurisdiction of the state government, the government has been directed to immediately establish necessary coordination with the state government in this regard to maintain uniformity and uniformity of driver’s license.

The committee will also call the concerned ministries of the state government for further discussion.

He also directed the Department of Physical Infrastructure and Transport Management to consider allowing vehicles to operate such vehicles if it is found suitable for mechanical testing.

Similarly, the government has directed to open driver training centers in all the seven states as most of the accidents are due to the weakness and negligence of the drivers. Also, the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Transport has been directed to prepare the same standards for private sector driving schools and government training centers.
