Biratnagar, August 4 – According to the Directorate of Agriculture, Biratnagar, 94.65 percent planting has been completed in Province No. 1 so far. Last year, 93.95 percent of the land was planted during this period.

A total of 340,829 hectares of land is being cultivated in this state which has 14 districts. Of this, 322,597 hectares have been planted, said Saraswati Shrestha, spokesperson of the directorate.

According to the information received from the directorate, 8,562 hectares have been planted in Taplejung, 13,158 hectares in Sankhuwasabha and 1,525 hectares in Solukhumbu.

Similarly, eight thousand 282 hectares in Panchthar, 11 thousand 852 hectares in Ilam, 16 thousand 101 hectares in Bhojpur, eight thousand 954 hectares in Tehrathum, six thousand 360 hectares in Dhankuta, 12 thousand 577 hectares in Udaipur, four thousand 182 hectares in Okhaldhunga and 12 thousand 382 hectares in Khotang. The land has been planted.

It is said that planting has been completed in 53,900 hectares in Sunsari, 81,634 hectares in Morang and 83,125 hectares in Jhapa.

Rice has been planted in 23,245 hectares in three districts of the high hills, 80,692 hectares in eight districts of the central hills and 218,659 hectares in three districts of the Terai. In this comparison, 96 percent of the trees have been planted in the high hills, 88.76 percent in the central hills and 97 percent in the Terai, said spokesperson Shrestha.
